Heidi Klum is a German model born on the 1st of June 1973. Erna Klum was her mother. Gunther Kum was the manager of a cosmetics business. Heidi's father was previously an executive producer at 4711, a perfume company. It was in Bergisch Gladbach she was born and was raised. Bergisch Gladbach is only 6 miles from Cologne. Former German-American model, Heidi Klum is now an actress as well as a television host. Karin Klum's friend, who was Klum's (18-year-old) student encouraged her to take part in the German TV talent competition known as Model 92. The German women's magazine Petra supported the show, which was part of Thomas Gottschalk's talk show. Klum was up against 25,000 contestants from Germany and Europe before she became one of the three semifinalists. In April of 1992, she took home the top prize of $300,000.
